Switching from TypePad to Squarespace

I just made the switch to Squarespace. Migrating the content was easy with the import wizard. What was difficult was thinking of all the things I need to do to get ready to switch. Set up Google Adsense. Pick a style sheet. Review the Domain Mapping process.

It all went better than I thought, and now www.greenm3.com is on Squarespace.

Moving to a new Cloud Hosted environment for GreenM3, SquareSpace

It's been over 4 years as a happy user of TypePad for hosting www.greenm3.com, but I have new ideas for the blog and a new platform makes things much easier.

In the process of moving I will be making other changes to the blog, and with any move there will be transition issues.

Please be patient over the next few days.

Data Center Eulogy for Olivier Sanche’s Memorial Service, Jan 28, 2011

A week ago I had the honor of presenting a eulogy at Olivier Sanche’s Memorial Service. It was one of the most difficult tasks I had to figure out what to say about Olivier’s work in the data center industry. It would be easy if I had 2 hours, and I could try and tell a whole story, but my goal was 6-8 minutes highlighting Olivier’s impact.

I have notes from many people who contributed their interactions with Olivier and I put them on this page.

For those of you who know Olivier I hope you like what I wrote. For those of you who don’t know Olivier hopefully you understand how special Olivier was.
